WATCH AND CLOCK

CLOCK - a device for showing time, which is usually found in or on a building and is NOT worn by a person

Examples:

The town-hall clock says 11 o'clock.
What an attractive kitchen clock!


WATCH - a small clock which is worn on a strap around the wrist or, sometimes, connected to a piece of clothing by a chain or carried in the pocket

Examples:

My watch seems to have stopped - it says 8:17 but I'm sure it must be later.
Right-handed people usually wear a watch on their left wrist.

WHOSE OR WHO'S

WHO’S => is short for who is or who has

Examples:

Who's got the dictionary?

Who’s that man?


WHOSE => means who does it belong to; used for adding information about a person or thing just mentioned

Examples:

Whose car is this?

Brian, whose contract expires in two weeks, is likely to move back to the States.
